Corn Nuts of Australia rejoice, and get ready for Big Fun, because Stoddart Entertainment Group (SEG) is officially co-producing the Australia and New Zealand tour of Heathers the Musical, opening April 2026!
After the runaway success of The Play That Goes Wrong (which had a sold out season at the Sydney Opera House, an extended season in Melbourne and rave reviews everywhere it went), Heathers marks their next full Australian and New Zealand tour.
And CEO Daniel Stoddart couldn’t be more excited:
“Heathers the Musical is dark, hilarious, heartfelt and completely addictive. It’s a show that audiences around the world have fallen in love with, and we can’t wait to help bring that same energy to Australia and New Zealand. After the wild ride of The Play That Goes Wrong, this feels like the perfect next event for SEG.”
SEG is teaming up with some seriously heavy-hitting producers, Bill Kenwright Ltd, and Paul Taylor-Mills, who’ve already seen Heathers conquer London, New York and beyond. Along with GMG Productions, who complete the dream team bringing the tour to life (plus SEG bringing their homegrown flair), the class of 2026 is set to be unforgettable.
Why So Very?
If you’ve somehow missed the memo, Heathers is the killer cult musical based on the 1989 film. It’s got razor-sharp comedy, a soundtrack packed with bangers, and just the right amount of chaos to keep you on the edge of your seat. London and New York can’t get enough of it, and now it’s our turn.
A Killer Line-Up in 2026
Heathers is only one piece of SEG’s massive year of entertainment. Coming up before and alongside Westerberg High’s reign of terror:
- Evil Dead the Musical – Sydney and Melbourne, Feb–March 2026. A cult horror-comedy splatterfest with outrageous fun at every turn.
- Superstars: Villains & Heroes – Newcastle, March 2026. After selling out Superstars: A Celebration of the Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice in 2024, the concert spectacular returns with its boldest theme yet: a battle of musical theatre’s greatest heroes and villains starring Jemma Rix, Chloe Zuel and Ben Mingay.
Looking Ahead
With comedy chaos (The Play That Goes Wrong), cult horror (Evil Dead The Musical), a concert showdown (Superstars: Heroes & Villains), and now the queen bees of Westerberg High (Heathers), SEG is fast becoming one of the most exciting names in Australian live entertainment.
Tickets and further details for Heathers the Musical will be announced soon at heathersthemusical.com/australia.
How VERY!
